Abstract

Rapid urbanization and uncontrolled pollution has created a serious problem of air quality
degradation. Indian cities perform poorly in terms of air quality standards, with high PM 2.5 levels
which has many associated health impact. This shows the importance of having ambient air quality
monitoring solutions that inculcate multi-stakeholder partnerships to reduce air pollution. It is very
important to reduce the pollution level below the threshold level at which it poses no risk to human
health. To monitor real time air quality level across the city, it requires a continuous air quality
monitor networks to generate real time data related to air quality level in different part of the city. In
this study, Role of technology to monitor air quality has been explored for Rajkot city.
